Andy Mayo is Sway Tennis Club’s Head Coach and has been at the club since 2012.
I am a fully licensed LTA Performance Coach and have been coaching since March 2004, gaining experience with all ages and abilities in a variety of individual and group lessons. I am DBS checked and hold a First Aid qualification.
I successfully completed the LTA Development Coach Award in December 2005, Club Coach (Level 3) upgrade in April 2010 and Performance Coach upgrade in February 2011. In 2007 I graduated from Chichester University with a 2.1 Honours Degree in Sports Coaching Science.
I have a high level of technical expertise and during my degree I studied influences upon both the coach and student, including creating the correct learning environment, coaching principles, psychology, physiology and biomechanics.

I have a strong background in Mini Tennis and since my Development Coach Award I have acquired coaching experience at a large tennis club in Chichester, West Sussex, a smaller club in New Milton, Hampshire and an independent coaching programme in Surrey. I have been club coach at Sway Lawn Tennis Club since February 2012.
I have excellent people skills – I am a very popular coach, having a particularly good rapport with young people. I have experience of inspiring both juniors and adults to rapidly progress from beginner to a higher level as well as coaching junior performance squads.
